So, when we were camping, all our equipment are to of the line and my dad takes pride in having the best ones among his buddies. Another is know basic survival skills - fire starting, where to get water and filter it, map reading and using the compass. We've spent hours camping in all kinds of weather and so, we also invest in quality-made gear. Most of all, I think one should be proactive, plan ahead and make sure safety is a prime consideration.
