Of course, I have mentioned the GABF on this blog quite a bit: http://blog.ericshepard.com/search/label/GABF .
Part of the reason that this list is interesting to me is that I will be attending the festival and will use it to try to find beers on the Zymurgy Best Beers in America list that I don't get a chance to try elsewhere.
Here are the beers on the list that I have not had (or at least I don't know for sure that I've had):

I don't know specifically what beers any of these breweries will be pouring, but as you can see, most of the breweries on the list will be there. I should have an opportunity to check off most of these beers during the festival. Last year (see GABF Final Session and Random Thoughts), Dogfish Head's line was too long for me to even try them. I may have to hit them early this year.
I am pretty disappointed that Founders Brewing Company won't be there. Founders does not distribute to Colorado, so if I want to get through the whole top 10, I will need to pick that up sometime that I'm in the mid-west.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. I am still looking forward to the Great American Beer Fest.
I tend to follow a theme of styles of beer for a particular GABF session. One time I'll seek out sour ales, another time it will be dark stouts and porters, and another time it will be whatever strikes my fancy. If I start drinking IPAs then my taste buds go to heck in no time at all.
ReplyDeleteHope to meet up with you and other bloggers at the GABF. I'll be there Thursday night sampling and volunteering as a pourer the other 3 sessions. Cheers!
