Bobcat

I was out running this morning. Yes, running.

Well ... I'm not sure I was going fast enough to really call it "running", but it went down as "3.25mi Long Run with Runna" on Strava.

After Strava bought Runna, I've been trying some of the Runna plans to add a little balance to my workouts.

It is funny how I can do a Century Ride on a bike without really much of a huge effort whereas a 5km run is somewhat difficult for me.

Hopefully these Runna plans will change that.

Anyway, while out on this 3.25mi Long Run, I was at a park fairly close to my house (close enough that I can get there and back over 3.25miles) ... I looked off to the side of the path and saw a Bobcat.

In the past, when I've seen a Bobcat "in the wild" (as opposed to in the zoo) ... the cat ran away almost as soon as it saw me, so I figured I wouldn't be able to get my phone out to take any pictures, but I felt like I had to try.

And ... surprisingly, he (she? I wasn't really close enough to really determine the gender) didn't take off. I got some decent photos.

I even got a good photo of the cat looking at me.

Lately, I've seen posts / pictures / videos on places like Nextdoor and Ring Neighbors of bobcats others have seen and/or caught on their Ring cameras. And, I've been a little jealous.

Now I don't have to be jealous anymore.

By the way ... most of these posts include something like "please make sure your pets are safe". That always seems like a weird thing to say. There are predators out there all the time regardless if someone catches one on camera. If you're only careful about pets being out when someone sees a predator, you probably shouldn't own a pet.

Anyway ... it was fun to see this bobcat.
