W is for Wanderment Brewing

If you follow this blog at all, you probably know that we are getting close to finishing up round 5 of A to Z Breweries Series of Posts.

If you have not been following along, you probably don't care, but real quickly ...

The SheppyBrew Beer Model and I have been visiting (mostly) Denver Area breweries by going through the alphabet, and choosing a brewery that starts with the letter we're on.

We've been through the alphabet 4 times and are on round 5 right now.

Sometimes, we won't have a good option that actually starts with the letter we're on, so we have to take "artistic license".

For "V", we certainly had to take that "artistic license" with V is for Village, Greenwood, Downhill Brewing, but for "W" we actually had a couple of choices. This past weekend, we chose:

Of course, I've been working on my #GCCUSA, and would have liked to bike to our "W" brewery, but the Beer Model wasn't feeling 100%, and we decided that I could take a little rest from my biking to drive up to 800 E 64th Ave, Unit 8, Denver, CO 80229.

As I mentioned in End of my #GCCUSA2024 #1200MileSeptember, I did finish with miles to spare, so it is fine.

Wanderment is a tiny little brewery and taproom on the north side of Denver.

They are one of the newer breweries in the Denver area, having opened only in June of this year.

I was a little surprised how busy it seemed to be early-ish on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't packed or anything, but it did seem to maintain a pretty consistent flow of customers while we were there.

We don't always see that when we arrive close to opening time at these breweries.

As usual, we ordered a flight.

As we were going through, we ended up just ordering samples of everything they had on the tap list.

The bartender was the brewer, and was a really nice guy. We talked beer and homebrewing with him. He even offered to give me a pack of gelatin.

I declined, because the pack was 5 or 6 lifetimes worth of gelatin for sometime I use .5 tsp when I use it.

Anyway ... the beers were pretty good. I thought there were too many smoothie-style drinks on the menu for a relatively small selection, but that is just my opinion. I suppose it works for him.

My favorite was their West Coast IPA. The Beer Model's favorite was their Mexican Lager.

They don't serve food other than snacks, but the lunch my wife packed was very good.

It is a nice little brewery. I hope they survive and have an opportunity to grow.

And, so ... now that we've marked "W" off the list, we need an "X" brewery.

According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we'll have to be "creative" with our "X" brewery. I honestly have no idea what we'll end up with.

You'll find out fairly soon if you follow along at Sheppy's Blog: A to Z.

As always, stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook PageSheppy's Twitter FeedSheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.
