As you may know, the Brewery likes to post quarterly updates on how much we have brewed. You can see all these updates (including the one you are reading right now) by following this link: Sheppy's Blog: Brew Stats.
As you may remember, I didn't brew very many times last quarter, although I did some bigger batches so my volume was still pretty high.
I brewed a whole lot more often in Q3. I brewed 6 batches which yielded a 34 gallons of beer.

Muggled Pale Ale |
Holy cow! For the year I'm at 16 batches and already 90 gallons of beer! I am on pace for my biggest brewing year ever.

I also mentioned that I want to brew more lagers. Only 1 of the 3rd quarter beers are lagers (Schreck Gartenzwerg Pilsner), but I brewed three in the 1st quarter, which was already more than I brewed all last year. Now, I've done 4 lagers in 2019 and I am pretty sure I'll do more lagers this year.
I recently posted about the new fermentor and cooling system I got (see Anvil Stainless Bucket Fermenter with Cooling System). I'll need to play around with that setup some more. Bookmark Sheppy's Blog: Anvil to follow along on that.
Will-o-Wisp Brew Day |
The SheppyBrew Beer Model was the Brew Master for the Will-o-Wisp Brew Day. This allows us to maintain our claim of two adult HomeBrewers in the household. I don't have to worry about legal issues for brewing over 100 gallons of beer this year.
Falling Leaves Brew Day |
I also had another brew day away from the SheppyBrew Brewery. I brewed Muggled Pale Ale at my friend "Doc's" house/brewery.
You've probably noticed in my blog titles, but I'm paying attention to the total number of batches of beer I've brewed.
As I type this, I've brewed 241 batches of beer since I started back in 2009. Can't believe it has been 10 years!
I expect Q4 will be a lot less busy, but I can't image that I won't break that 100 Gallon milestone for the year. In fact, I think it is very likely I'll have my biggest brewing volume ever.
As I mentioned, I would like to do at least a couple more lagers this year.
Of course, I will do my annual X-Mas Ale.
