P is for Platt Park Brewing Co

So ... after several months of delay in the A to Z Series of posts, we are trying to get back on track.

I posted O is for Odell Brewing 5 Points just a week ago and now we're doing another one today.

If you follow along on this blog ... you likely know what this is all about ... but ... in case you are new here or just forgot ...

Back in February of 2015, I was embarrassed by the huge number of Denver Breweries that I had never visited.

I decided to make an effort to hit more of them.

As I started to look at the list, it struck me that I could go down the list alphabetically and find Denver-area breweries that started with just about every letter.

I went through the alphabet once, and then even decided to keep going ... I now on Round 6 up to the letter "P" ...

Saturday morning, my wife (aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model) decided that it was actually warm enough to ride her bike, and Platt Park Brewing Co is pretty much a perfect bike riding distance away from our house.

There was an annoying little bike path detour, but I was able to navigate that ok.

Platt Park is located at 1875 South Pearl Street Denver, CO 80210 in a historic South Pearl Street neighborhood with lots of other restaurants etc ... in the area.

It is a nice quiet street. Very bikeable.

So ... we got ourselves a flight of 6 beer tasters.
  • Plattmosphere ⭐️ Hazy IPA
  • Tropical Snow Dance ⭐️ IPA - American w/ 100% Mosaic Hops
  • Platty Lite ⭐️ Lager - American Light
  • Velvet Ninja ⭐️ Schwarzbier - Dark Lager
  • Astronaut Amber ⭐️ Red Ale - Amber
  • Pistachio Cream Ale🥉 ⭐️ Cream Ale

The beers were all well made and delicious. I of course gravitated more toward the hoppy beers and the Beer Model really enjoyed the Pistachio Cream Ale.

Platt Park partners with a food prep company "Gates Deli & Grog", connected right to the brewery through a window. You can order the food right from the bartender.

I had a very nice Italian Sandwhich, and the Beer Model said she really liked the salad that she ordered.

After the flight, I tried samples of some other beers and ended up also ordering pints of:
  • 🇲🇽 Chela Morena 🆕 ⭐️ Dark Mexican Lager
  • Cosmic Campout Cold IPA w/ Citra Cryo Hops
I think Cosmic Campout Cold IPA was my favorite of the day.

The outside area was really nice. The taproom has a bunch of TV's and it appears that the staff working Saturday were hockey fans, which is always awesome.

The whole thing was a wonderful experience.

We also had a nice bike ride home.

So, now that we've checked our sixth "P" brewery off the list, we are up to "Q".

"Q" has always been an interesting letter for this little project. We've had to get creative for it in the past and will for this year too.

But, I think I have a plan.
