Smoked Chicken on Infusion Roaster

You might remember that I smoked my Thanksgiving Turkey last year.

I purchased a "Turkey Cannon Infusion roaster" from Amazon to help out.

If you've been following this blog for awhile, you likely know that I have been experimenting for some time with slightly different ways to prepare grilled / smoked chicken.

See Sheppy's Blog: Chicken if you'd like to review various methods that I've experimented with.

I was making chicken a couple of weekends ago.

I thought ... maybe I'll try the "Turkey Cannon Infusion roaster" on a chicken.

So I did.

As far as preparation, there is nothing really special about using the "Infusion Roaster". I applied a rub just as I always do.

I added charcoal just as I always do.

I included apple wood, just as i usually do.

Really, the only difference is how I arranged the chicken on the "Roaster".

And I let it cook.

About halfway through, I flipped the bird to make it face the other way.

It turned out yummy. However, I don't feel like the roaster bought me anything.

In fact, placing the bird on the roaster is a little awkward ... like maybe it was made for something bigger ... like ... I don't know ... a turkey.

So, I don't expect this is a method of cooking chicken that I'll use again.

At the moment, I think the best chicken I made was the one I did fairly recently on the Weber Kettle.

Just thought I'd share.

As always, you can always keep an eye on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed;SheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website. Of course, don't forget to visit this blog often as well!
