2021 Q1 SheppyBrew Stats

Q1 of 2021 is already over, which means its time to report our brewing stats for the year so far.

Continuing on the trend from last year, I brewed a ridiculous amount of beer over the first 3 months of the year.

The first quarter of 2020, I brewed 7 whole batches with 35 gallons. In 2021, I brewed even more in Q1 ...

I brewed 8 batches and 42 gallons of beer.

Arctic Vortex Winter Saison

This puts me on pace for another huge year. If I keep up this pace, I'll be over 150 gallons in 2021.

I would say that I'm sure that I'll slow down, but I've been saying that in every on of these Brew Stats posts for over a year, and I have not really slowed down yet.

The 8 beers I brewed in the first quarter were:

As I mentioned in SheppyBrew 2020 Year-End Brewing Stats, I am planning on concentrating on existing recipes. I have tons of nice beer recipes that I have not brewed in awhile, and I thought it would be fun to make some of those.

Stouticus American Stout

So ... none of the recipes I brewed in the first quarter were new recipes. I modified them slightly, but for the most part matched how I made them before.

I also wanted to make more lagers. I made 3 lagers this quarter (Mardi BockSin Lima Mexican Lager,
Galena Dave's Pale Lager). I think this probably puts me on pace to brew more lagers than ever before. Last year, I made 7 lagers, which is probably close to the most I've brewed in a year.

Mardi Bock

All my brews have been all-grain. And, all of them have been in my new Anvil Foundry

The SheppyBrew Beer Model helped me brew several batches, so I don't have to worry about being illegal when I go over 100 gallons again this year.

Boo Berry American Wheat

I don't know specifically what will happen in Q2. Of course, I'll brew at least one of my Seasonal Saisons. I also am planning on Updating the Homebrew Colorado 6 pack. I am also planning on doing a travel beer on Big Brew Day.

Quarter Life Crisis Hoppy Red Ale

Other than that, you'll just have to stay tuned to see what happens.
