While ham is no my favorite holiday food, I aim to please, so I went ahead and decided to do my "typical" Double Smoked Ham.
My wife got the standard spiral cut ham, around 10lbs.
On Christmas morning I made a glaze / sauce with a coke base and various spices.
I also made a brown-sugar based "rub".
I placed the ham in a cooking pan, and then poured about half the glaze over the ham, and sprinkled the rub over it.
I set up the grill to cook at about 275 to 300 for about 3 hours. I included one chunk of hickory wood to add a little extra smoke flavor.
And then I just let it cook.
I had my 12th of 12 Beers Of Christmas, X-Mas Ale 2025 while cooking.
I also decided to have a Yoker Belgian Tripel, mostly just to get the photo for the web page.
For the last 45 minutes or so ... I took the ham out of the pan and finished it up straight on the grill.
To serve, I cut it up, put it in another pan and applied the rest of the glaze.
Guests told me they really liked it ... especially the "sauce". It was good, but not my best ham.
So, it was another successful holiday meal.
