We had a long 6 month delay between N is for North River Brewery (RiNo) and O is for Odell Brewing 5 Points, but our more recent posts have come fairly fast.
This is our 4th A to Z posts in December and January, and we're up to "S".
According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we had a couple good choices for "S" breweries.
And ... a couple of Saturdays ago, based on the hours of operation, we packed a lunch and picked .... Big S. Little S. What begins with S?
S is for Second Dawn Brewing Company
Located at 2302 Dayton Street, Aurora, CO, Second Dawn is a combination coffee shop / brewery.
Their hours start in the early morning as you would expect from a coffee shop.
From their website:
"Our name comes from both place — Aurora, where we’re located, means dawn in Latin — and time — if dawn is when you have to wake up and start work, second dawn is when that ends and you get to start the best part of your day.Second Dawn is our happy place, and we hope our beverages can be a portal to yours."
It is a cool vibe in this place. A little more than half seemed to be drinking coffee while the rest of us enjoyed beers.
There were people playing games. There were people seemingly working on laptops. Some of us were drinking and eating lunch.
Fun place.
Like usual, we ordered a couple of flights, the first one was all lagers:
- King of Luck Vienna Lager
- Wolf of the Woods Italian Pilsner
- Cub Crawl West Coast Pilsner
- Tijuana Champion Mexican Lager
The second flight was more balanced:
- House Party Hazy IPA
- West Coast IPA
- Steel Horse Amber Ale
- There & Back Robust Porter
You can check out their current offerings on their Beer Menu.
I honestly really liked all these beers. As usual, the Beer Model preferred the non-hoppy, lighter colored beers.
The Beer Model got a pint of the Mexican Lager to finish her lunch. I got a pint of the Italian Pilsner.
We didn't try any of their food, but it looks like they have a decent food menu, including Breakfast Burritos, Pastry, and Pizza.
Great lunch. Great beer. Great vibe. We completely suggest coming by this place if you get an opportunity.
And ... now we're up to "T". According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we have a couple of "T" breweries to choose from.
I'm not sure what we'll end up going to.
