HA! Three A to Z Brewery Posts in a row!
If you follow this blog at all, you probably have a pretty good idea what this A to Z series is all about ... but just in case you're wondering ...
Back in February of 2015, I was embarrassed by the number of Denver Breweries that I had never visited.
I decided to make an effort to hit more of them.
As I started to look at the list, it struck me that I could go down the list alphabetically and find Denver-area breweries that started with just about every letter.
As I started to look at the list, it struck me that I could go down the list alphabetically and find Denver-area breweries that started with just about every letter.
So, I did. And ... we've gone through 5 whole rounds. Now we're on our 6th time through the alphabet.
After T is for The Post Chicken & Beer (Rosedale), we are up to the letter "U".
U is for LŪki Brewery
Yes, Lūki doesn't start with the letter "U", but after going almost 6 full rounds of going through the alphabet, we've used up all the local breweries that start with "U".
So .. we took a little "artistic license". The wife (aka the SheppyBrew Beer Model) picked out this one.
Lūki Brewery is located at 14715 West 64th Ave. Unit A & B in Arvada, CO 80004.
Last Saturday, we packed up a lunch and headed up to Arvada to check this place out.
Lūki Brewery is a "circus themed" brewery, which is pretty cool. From their website:
"An award-winning brewery featuring our family's past from the Roaring 20’s era of the circus. No scary clowns, no overly bright colors and lights, but a contemporary take on a classic time in America. LUKI Brewery features a pet-friendly, comfortable space that evokes awe and amazement with a beer menu built by the community, inspired by 90's Colorado beer culture. A century of time may separate the family, but the foundation hasn’t changed."
They have a great beer lineup, which you can check out on their beer menu. Based on our experience, they really concentrate on delicious hoppy beers, which was great for me, but not so much for the Beer Model.
I really liked all the beers we sampled here. And despite their seemingly hop-focused lineup, the Beer Model also found at least a couple that she liked.
She even tried a "sour" that she told me "wasn't totally disgusting" (which is a compliment in her mind for sours)
One thing I thought was sort of cool was their Homebrew Recipes section of their website.
I never make "clones", and very rarely use recipes generated by others, but it is still fun for me to look at recipes ... especially done by professional breweries.
I thought this was a great place to enjoy beer. I would love it if this was closer to our neighborhood. It would be a brewery I visit quite a bit.
So, if you find yourself wanting a beer in Arvada, I suggest you check out this brewery.
And now that we've checked a "U" brewery off our list, it is time for the letter "V".
According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, V is another letter that either we'll have to travel pretty far for, or we'll have to take "artistic license" to fit in.
My guess is we'll go more local, but I guess you'll have to stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z in order to find out.
As always keep watching the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with my BBQ, Beer, Biking: SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; SheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.Of course, don't forget to visit this blog often as well!
