N is for North River Brewery (RiNo)

Here we are at "N" of Round 6 of the A to Z Series of Posts!

Over half way through! It is difficult to believe.

And amazingly, even after 5 and a half rounds of the alphabet, we still have tons of local Denver-area breweries to go through.

We don't always hit the letter perfectly, but for the most part we've found a "reasonable" candidate for every letter so far.

Of course, in some cases we have to stretch the definition of "local" as we did in M is for Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub.

Luckily for "N", we had a couple of choices on the Colorado Brewery Map & List, and we picked ...

L is for Littleton Brewing Company

If you've been following along on this blog, you probably know that we've been working on round 6 of our A to Z series of posts.

If you have not been following along and have no idea what I mean by A to Z series of posts, feel free to check it out. It's not real difficult to get the gist.

We're visiting breweries, letting the alphabet guide us to which brewery we visit next.

As I mentioned in K is for Knotted Root Brewing Company, we needed a "L" brewery next, and I was pretty sure which one we'd hit.

According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we had a few choices, but if you know the brewery scene in our area at all ... it comes as no surprise that ...

J is for Justice Lady Brewing

If you've been following along on this blog, you probably know that we've been working on round 6 of our A to Z series of posts.

Earlier this month, we posted H is for CHeluna Brewing Company.

If you're familiar with the A to Z concept or even just familiar with the English alphabet, you'd probably be expecting us to move on to "I" next.

"I" does indeed come immediately after "H", but we already did I is for Incantation Brewing, visiting Incantation on the very last day they were open.

So, in this case, we are now up to "J".

According to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, there was really just one logical choice ...

Z is for Zymos Brewing

Here we are, right at the end of Round 5 of the A to Z brewery series of posts.

It is difficult to believe we've already hit 25 breweries (26 after today's post) since finishing up A to Z Denver Breweries Round 4.

We started with A is for AC Golden Tank Room back in August of 2023, and we're already up to "Z".

As I mentioned in Y is for BerkeleY AlleY Beer Company, we had really one obvious choice on the Colorado Brewery Map & List.

It is actually one of the newer breweries in the area, having opened February of this year.

And ... as luck would have it ... this brewery is very close to our home in Littleton, Colorado.

R is for Reverence Brewing Company

It has been quite awhile since we did anything with the A to Z series of posts.

Q is for Smokin' Bones BBQ went "live" in May for goodness sake.

Training for the Triple Bypass and some family commitments really didn't leave much time to spend much time in the Denver low-lands.

But, this past weekend we decided to move on to the next brewery.

After Q is for Smokin' Bones BBQ, we needed an "R" brewery, and according to Colorado Brewery Map & List, we had quite a few to choose from.

Eventually, after weighing pro's and con's of different "R" breweries, we decided on a bike ride to:

Q is for Smokin' Bones BBQ

Big Q. Little Q. What begins with Q?

Nothing.

As I mentioned in P is for Public Offering Brewing Company, according to the Colorado Brewery Map & List we have no breweries in the Denver Area that start with "Q".

We don't even have any brewery left with the letter Q in it.

There is a brewery in Fort Collins that we could potentially use, but I don't want to make that trip just to mark a brewery off this list. Maybe we can use that in round 6.

But ... I decided to do something different for Q this time ....

P is for Public Offering Brewing Company

Well ... even though it's been awhile since I posted O is for Odyssey Beerwerks, we're chugging along pretty good on Round 5 of the A to Z Breweries Series of Posts.

We started round 5 in August with A is for AC Golden Tank Room, and we're already more than halfway through the alphabet.

I mentioned in A to Z Denver Breweries Round 4, that we were running out of breweries in certain letters and actually were considering not doing a round 5.

While we have had to use "Artistic License" on some of the letters, we've really not had too much trouble finding breweries to use for every letter so far.

After O comes "P". We had plenty of "P" breweries to choose from, and The Beer Model picked:

D is for Diebolt Brewing Company

As you know if you've been following along with the A to Z Breweries Series of Posts ... the Beer Model and I have started a 5th round through the alphabet.

We started our 5th round a couple months ago with A is for AC Golden Tank Room.

We continued earlier this month with B is for Black Shirt Brewing Company, and then followed up with C is for Cannonball Creek Brewing Company.

D is another letter that has still has a few choices.

As it turns out, the SheppyBrew Beer Model (aka my wife) and I had the same brewery in mind for our "D" brewery ...

B is for Black Shirt Brewing Company

So ... I it is official now ... we're doing a 5th round of the A to Z Denver Breweries series of posts.

I guess.

We certainly have a bunch more breweries to visit on the Colorado Brewery Map & List, but there are several letters in the alphabet that are not straight forward to fill in.

For now ... we are good ... once we start hitting letters without breweries, we'll figure out what to do.

If you read #1000MileSeptember #GCCUSA2023, you know that Saturday I finished off my Great Cycle Challenge. There is still plenty of time to donate, and of course I'll doing it again next year, but I think for now, this is the last time I'll mention the Great Cycle Challenge for awhile.

But the 2nd ride of the day was with the SheppyBrew Beer Model (aka the Pedego Owner aka my wife).

A is for AC Golden Tank Room

Ok ... well I guess ... here we go again ...

In A to Z Denver Breweries Round 4, I mentioned that I wasn't sure if we'd do a 5th round of the A to Z Denver Breweries series of posts.

We certainly have a bunch more breweries to visit on the Colorado Brewery Map & List, but there are several letters in the alphabet that are not straight forward to fill in.

However, The SheppyBrew Beer Model (aka my wife) wanted to ride her Pedego to a brewery last Saturday for lunch.

There was an "A brewery" that is a pretty nice ride and that I've been interested in visiting, so we decided to go for it ...

First Century Ride of 2023

This past Saturday, I did my first Century ride of 2023.

Yep, 100 miles.
That's right ... On my bicycle.
Yep, in one day.
No, my butt is fine.
Nope, I'm not crazy.
Yes, I know you don't like to drive that far.

Spoiler alert ... there are a lot of similarities between my First Century Ride of 2022 and this one. It was also done the last Saturday of July.

If you've been following me, on this blog, you know I'm "training" for September.

In September, I'm riding 1,000 miles to help raise awareness and money for the Children's Cancer Research Fund with the Great Cycle Challenge.

If you can afford it and are against childhood cancer, you should donate some money to help with the cause. If you want to help my fundraising effort ... you can donate at

Y is for Black SkY BrewerY

We're getting close to the end of Round 4 of the A to Z series of posts.

It was almost a month ago that I posted X is for Los Dos Potrillos MeXican Restaurant and Brewery.

Of course, after "X" comes "Y" ... and shortly after that ... "Z".

As I mentioned, the Colorado Brewery Map & List doesn't really have anything in the "Y" section close enough that we could use.

We really had to take a little artistic license for this one ...

W is for Westbound & Down (Denver)

I went on a bike ride Saturday morning. I couldn't go on a very long bike ride because the Beer Model (aka my wife ... aka the Pedego Owner) wanted me back so we could go on a bike ride together.

You see ... she wanted to knock off the next brewery on our  A to Z Breweries series of posts.

As I mentioned in V is for Very Nice Brewing Company, The Colorado Brewery List actually has a couple choices for "W".

I had on in particular in mind, but I was open to suggestions.

Regardless, the Beer Model liked the brewery I was thinking of, and thought she could make the bike ride.

N is for Novel Strand Brewing Company

It has been awhile since we biked to M is for Mountain Toad Brewing.

I actually don't think the Beer Model had been on her bike at all since Mountain Toad.

But this past weekend, we decided to continue our exploration of A to Z Denver Breweries.

As I mentioned in M is for Mountain Toad Brewing, there was really only one logical choice for our "N" brewery.

I'd actually ridden my bike by this brewery a couple times on my various biking journeys.

It is a nice ride from our Home Brewery along bike paths to ...

My 2nd Century Ride

I did my second Century Ride last Saturday. 100 miles on my gravel bike.

Yep, 100 miles.
That's right ... On my bicycle.
Yep, in one day.
No, my butt is fine.
Nope, I'm not crazy.
Yes, I know you don't like to drive that far.

Grist Brewing Company (Rare)

If you've been following along on my Sheppy Brew's A to Z Denver Breweries series of posts ... you know that usually the Beer Model (aka my wife) and I try to bike to various breweries around our area.

About a year ago, we bought her a new Pedego E-Bike, which helped tremendously increase her biking range, and allowed us to cycle at about the same general speed.

I know a lot of cyclists look down on E-Bikes, but I personally am a fan. I think our situation where I cycle a ton and she doesn't is a perfect example of what is great about them. She and I can ride together without either one of us being frustrated by the speed or intensity of the ride.

I had never ridden one, though. This past Saturday, I decided to give one a try and rented one at a local bike shop ... GoodTurn Electric Cycles.

And what better destination to try, but the next brewery on our list ...

W is for Woods Boss Brewing Company

If you're following along, you may remember that I the SheppyBrew Beer Model and I visited Vail Brewing Company to knock out "V" in our "A to Z Denver Breweries Project".

Vail Brewing Company isn't really a local brewery, but there were not really a whole lot of choices close to Denver.

And, it was local to where we were when we visited.

Anyway ...

As you may or may not know ...

After "V" comes the letter "W", and so we had to find a brewery that starts with the letter "W".

There were actually a couple of local options for "W" breweries in the Denver area.

Last Saturday, we packed up a lunch, got on our bikes, and headed down the bike trails to downtown Denver.

August Progress on #5000MilesIn2020

If you follow this blog fairly regularly, you might remember that I've made it a goal to ride 5000 miles in 2020.

If you don't know what I'm talking about ... you can catch up by checking out Sheppy's Blog: #5000MilesIn2020.

Now that August is complete, I thought I'd give another quick update.

As you may remember from July Progress on #5000MilesIn2020, my goal was to ride 600 miles in August.

I only got to 406 miles.
