P is for Public Offering Brewing Company

Well ... even though it's been awhile since I posted O is for Odyssey Beerwerks, we're chugging along pretty good on Round 5 of the A to Z Breweries Series of Posts.

We started round 5 in August with A is for AC Golden Tank Room, and we're already more than halfway through the alphabet.

I mentioned in A to Z Denver Breweries Round 4, that we were running out of breweries in certain letters and actually were considering not doing a round 5.

While we have had to use "Artistic License" on some of the letters, we've really not had too much trouble finding breweries to use for every letter so far.

After O comes "P". We had plenty of "P" breweries to choose from, and The Beer Model picked:

Part of the reason The Beer Model picked Public Offering Brewing Company is because it is close enough to our house that she felt she was comfortable riding to the brewery.

So we did.

Public Offering Brewing Company is located at 1736 S. Broadway Denver, CO 80210.

It's hours are:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 3-9 PM
Wednesday: 3-9 PM
Thursday: 3-9 PM
Friday: 1-10 PM
Saturday: 12-10 PM
Sunday: 12-8 PM

From their website:
"Like so many other breweries, Public Offering Brewing Company simply began as a hobby in a garage and an excuse to get together with friends. Ambition and passion quickly took over, and after a lot of education, experimentation, patience and failure, our founder, Cody, sought to create one big neighborhood of beer loving friends. But our goal isn’t to just simply offer our beer; so instead, we’re offering our entire brewery to you. We want to highlight everything that’s inspired us and influenced our upbringing, from beer styles and flavors to local ingredients and neighborhood causes.  Rather than brew the beer we like to drink, we aim to brew the beer you want to drink, and we invite you to try our beer, enjoy our taproom, ask us questions, and tell us what you want. Because if you love beer, we’re neighbors."

The brewery is a nice looking space with a great beer garden area in the back. As I mentioned, it is easily bike-able.

We arrived and ordered two flights of 4.

The Beer Model picked 4 beers from the "Crisp" section of the Beer Menu.
  • In A Flash Kölsch
  • Le Spritz Italian Pilsner
  • Lil' Chugger Munich Helles
  • Clarito Mexican Lager

I picked mostly beers from the Hoppy Section (and one fruited beer because I thought The Beer Model would like to try it)
  • Brilliant Disguise West Coast Pilsner
  • Good Old Days West Coast IPA
  • Chill, Chill, Chill Cold IPA
  • In A Purple Flash Fruited Kölsch

I really liked all the beers except the In A Flash Kölsch. The Beer Model wasn't really a fan of the hoppy beers.

She also wasn't a fan of the Kölsch.

Ironically, we both actually liked the Fruited Kölsch.

After the first couple of fights we got another to try some of the "Seasonals".
  • Cactus Quencher Fruited Sour Ale
  • Frequent Flyer Golden Ale Collab w/ Jagged Mountain
  • Blush Crush Fruited Wheat Ale
  • Tea 'N Tee Fruited Summer Ale Collab w/ Monolith & Burns Family

These were all good, but I think we both liked the first two flights better.

My favorite beer was the Brilliant Disguise West Coast Pilsner, and that was the pint I got at the end.

The Beer Model's favorite beer was the Clarito Mexican Lager.

Overall, it was a great brewery visit. I'm sure we'll be back sometime.

After lunch and beers, we headed home. We got some rain. It was still warm enough that the rain jacket made me too warm on the ride home, but the Pedego Owner was "Freezy Cold".

But we made it home fine.

And now ... "Q". We basically have nothing on the Colorado Brewery Map & List for the letter "Q".

So, we'll have to get real creative. Stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z to see what we come up with.

As always, stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook PageSheppy's Twitter FeedSheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.

Go Rockies!
