April #7100MilesIn2024 Progress

I'm probably the only one who cares ... but I've been tracking my 2024 Strava goals every month on this blog. This year, I'm targeting 7,100 miles and 319,500 feet climbed (11 Everests).

Knowing that I'll ride more in warmer spring and summer months, I planned for less riding in the snowy winter / early spring months.

I was behind my plan at the end of January. I caught up by the end of February.

I moved ahead of my plan in March, and extended my lead quite a bit in April, logging 576 miles and 29,429 feet climbed.

On the last day of April, Strava still has me behind by 255 miles and 1,215 feet if I were to spread my miles evenly over the entire year.

But, I consider myself ahead since I'll ride significantly more now that we are moving into warmer weather. I might actually have to increase my elevation goal.

Keep an eye on Sheppy's Blog: #7100MilesIn2024 and/ or Sheppy's Blog: #11EverestsIn2024, and I'll continue to let you know how I'm tracking.

I also extended my #MetricCenturyEveryMonth streak with a 63 mile ride on the 29th. It was actually 3 separate rides during the day, but I still think that counts. I don't usually wait until so late in the month to get my Metric Century done. On Sunday, I thought my streak would end.

I used a cool online tool that was pointed out to me by one of my Strava "friends". The tool is GOTOES for Strava. I've used it a couple times to combine separate strava activities into one. This would be most useful for times where my bike computer dies during a ride and I finish up using my phone app, but that has not happened to me since I discovered the tool. It is also useful on days that I ride several times and want to show that as one big ride (like this time).

Now, thanks to the ability to combine multiple rides into one, every month since July of 2021, I've ridden at least one 100 km (62.2 miles) ride. This makes the streak 33 straight months.
