Real quick in case you are new to this blog ...
Back in February of 2015, I was embarrassed by the huge number of Denver Breweries that I had never visited.
I decided to make an effort to hit more of them.
As I started to look at the list, it struck me that I could go down the list alphabetically and find Denver-area breweries that started with just about every letter.
I went through the alphabet once, and now am on my 2nd time through.
From the beginning, I understood that "Q" would be a challenging letter. The first time through, I didn't even find a brewery, and went with a meadery instead. (Q is for Queen Bee Brews)
In my reference list, I don't see anything else for the letter Q unless I cheat a little bit. It's my game, so I can change the rules ...
Q is for LiQuid Mechanics Brewing Company
I hope I don't regret using up an "L" when I go through the alphabet a third time. But, that is next year's Sheppy's problem.
Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company is in Lafayette, which I'm not even sure I consider "The Denver Area", but it is close enough. My other choices were Boulder or Fort Collins, which I don't consider "The Denver Area" at all.
Anyway, last Saturday, the Beer Model and I went up to Westminster for a little walk / hike and then headed even further north to see Liquid Mechanics.
It is located at 297 N. Hwy 287 Suite 100 Lafayette, CO 80026. It doesn't serve food, but we picked up sandwiches from a King Soopers deli around the corner.
The tasting room is nice, and they have a good variety of beer.
They proudly show a bunch of medals ... which is always a pretty good sign that they know what they are doing.
We had a flight of tasters. Then we had a couple of pints.
And then I had one last pint.
I enjoyed all the beers I had. There were still more we could have tried and I'm sure by the time you go, there will be even more beers.
The sandwiches from King Sooper's were ok. If you go, you might want to find something better to eat.
One of the couples we saw had a pizza. I'm sure I would have preferred pizza than the sandwich I had.
Check it out if you're in the area.
The Tasting Room Hours are:
Monday – Thursday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Friday: 1:00pm - 11:00pm
Saturday: 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Next up is "R". I have a few more local options for "R". You'll have to stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z to find out what we pick!
Go Blackhawks!
