Are you excited to find out what Denver-area brewery is next.
If you have, you know that we posted W is for Wanderment Brewing a couple weeks ago.
You also know that next up is "Y", and you probably also know that according to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we didn't really have any options of breweries that actually start with the letter "Y".
And ... you also know that we don't let that sort of thing stop us ...
Are you excited to find out what we picked? Are you? ARE YOU? The Beer Model picked:
Y is for BerkeleY AlleY Beer CompanY
So ... BerkeleY AlleY is located at 4342 Tennyson St Denver, CO 80212. To get there you enter in the Alley off of 44th Ave.
We visited this brewery in 2019 with D is for De Steeg Brewing. I THINK De Steeg changed their name rather than closing and selling the brewery to new owners, but I'm not 100% sure.
"De Steeg" means "The Alley" in Dutch.
But, regardless, BerkeleY AlleY is our "Y" brewery. We packed a lunch and headed over there for Saturday lunch.
It is a cool little nano-brewery in the Tennyson area, which has a bunch of shops, restaurants, and a few more breweries.
There was a festival going on in the area on Saturday when we visited, which made parking challenging, but eventually we were able to make it in.
As usual, we started with a flight of beers. You can see there beer list on the Our Beers portion of their website.
Annoyingly, I had to add quite a few of them into Untappd, but I guess that happens sometimes.
Our first flight had six beers:
- Märzen Down the Alley ... Oktoberfest MÄrzen
- Alley Light ... American Lager
- No Use For a Name ... Czech Pilsner
- Rowley – 3rd Anniversary Beer release! ... English IPA
- Undertow ... West Coast IPA
- Pilsneria – 3rd Anniversary Beer release! ... Italian pilsner
After that, I had the bartender pour us a few more samplers:
- Blackberry Java Jive ... Fruit Beer
- Belgium Golden Strong
- Whisky for Breakfast - 3rd Anniversary Beer release! ... Barrel-Aged Imperial Breakfast Stout
We both liked most of the beers. We both didn't like some of them, although for the most part I think one of us liked each one.
There were actually lots more choices that we didn't get to. The choices were pretty amazing for such a small brewery.
It is really a great location with enough beers for just about anyone.
Certainly worth the visit if you find yourself in this area of Denver.
And now ... as you might be able to guess ... we are up to the letter "Z". We've picked our "Z" brewery. Honestly, the choice was sort of made for us, because there is only one brewery that starts with "Z" in the area that we have not already posted as part of the A to Z series of posts.
Want to guess?
