2024 Q3 SheppyBrew Stats

It is already October, which blows my mind. Where did the summer go?

Of course, this means the 3rd Quarter of 2024 is done. We can report on the Q3 SheppyBrew Brewing Stats

When it comes right down to it, I'm sure no one besides myself really cares, but I like to look back on these posts to see how much I've brewed and what I was planning on brewing at certain points of the year.

As I've been saying, I expect that I'll brew less beer this year than I have for the past several years, and so far it does look like I'm tracking for a lower volume than 2023.

In fact, as of October 1 ... I was on track for just over 93 gallons for 2024, which would be the least amount I've brewed since 2018.

In this quarter, I brewed 4 batches of beer:

The 4 batches of beer represents 20 gallons of beer, putting me at 70 for the year so far.

Hail Storm Summer Saison

Last year, though the 3rd quarter, I had brewed 93 gallons, which is significantly more than 70.

1519 Barker Exportbier and Falling Leaves Autumn Saison are still in the fermenter.

Of the four batches only 1519 Barker was a new recipe. I've only brewed 5 new recipes this year, whereas last year at this point in the year I had brewed 10 new recipes.

But, as I've mentioned a few time this year, I'm concentrating on brewing my "Seasonal" beers. I've brewed a "Seasonal" beer every month so far, and have plans to brew one in October.

1519 Barker was also the only lager I brewed this quarter, putting me at only 4 for the year. Last year, I had only brewed 5 by this time, so I'm not too far behind. I'd really like to brew a few more before the end of the year.

All the beers I brewed this quarter were all-grain at my home brewery on the Anvil Foundry.

None of these beers are Roll-a-Style beers that advance my BJCP Goal. Next year, I think I'll hit the BJCP Goal pretty hard. I guess we'll see if I'll actually follow through.

Well, I think that covers the quarterly brewing stats
