As you may know, the Brewery likes to post quarterly updates on how much we have brewed. You can see all these updates (including the one you are reading right now) by following this link: Sheppy's Blog: Brew Stats.
The forth quarter was light. We only brewed 3 beers.
Those 3 batches totaled 16 gallons of beer, bringing my 2018 total to 18 batches and 93 gallons brewed. Hooray ... I'm a legal homebrewer this year!
I intended to brew one or two more batches, but life got in the way around the holidays.
That's ok. 93 gallons is a respectable amount. I also brewed close to 20 1-gallon batches of kombucha this year.
Buckwheat's BPA |
2 of the beer batches were new recipes. (X-Mas Ale 2018 and Resilience IPA Clone(ish)). If I'm counting correctly, this makes 8 new recipes brewed in 2018. That is also the number of new recipes I did in 2017. I think I might work on bringing that number up in 2019.
No lagers in the 4th quarter. That means I only did 2 lagers in all of 2018. I certainly need to work on that for this coming year.
Resilience IPA Clone(ish) |
Resilience IPA Clone(ish) was a clone beer, my first in ... I don't even know how long.
2019 is off to a decent start, having brewed my Arctic Vortex Winter Saison already.
I'm not sure what else 2019 is likely to bring. As I mentioned, I'd like to increase my new recipe number and my lager total. Other than that, I don't know.
Dry Dock Brewing also did a Resilience Clone |
You might have noticed that www.sheppybrew.com has been having issues. I hope to work on the website this year to correct those problems. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but the website isn't always rendering the correct page. No one has mentioned this issue, but it happens to me quite a lot, so I am sure it affects others. I'm probably just the only one who cares.
Don't forget, you can also always follow us on SheppyBrew's Instagram Feed; SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; and SheppyBrew's Website.
Again, if you specifically want to check out these Quarterly Reports, bookmark Sheppy's Blog: Brew Stats. Hopefully I'll get the 2nd Quarter report out earlier after the Quarter ends.
Happy New Year everyone.
Go Blackhawks!
