2014 Q2 SheppyBrew Stats

As you may know, the Brewery likes to post quarterly updates on how much we have brewed. You can see all these updates (including the one you are reading right now) by following this link: http://blog.ericshepard.com/search/label/Brew%20Stats .

2014 continues to be slow going at the brewery. You may remember that in Q1, I brewed only 4 times.  Well, in Q2, I brewed only 3 times, and didn't brew at all in June. Pathetic.

I brewed:
This came to 15.5 gallons, putting me at 35.5 for the year so far. I'm on pace for only 70 gallons. Last year, by this time, I had brewed  11 batches for 57 gallons. Obviously, my pace is slower this year.

Laser Salt

None of these three are new recipes, so as predicted, I am not anywhere close to being on pace for the 14 new recipes last year. I'm ok with that. In fact, my goal was to brew some of the old favorites this year.

I brewed no lagers this quarter, so T.RA.SH. Mexican Lager is still the only lager of 2014 so far.

Blackhawk Black

All my batches so far this year have been "all-grain". All my batches last year were all-grain as well. I don't expect to do many extract or partial mash recipes ever again, but you never know. At one point in June I thought I might do an extract beer just to get a brew day in, but I never got around to it.

Buckwheat's BPA

All of my batches so far this year have been kegged. Last year 18 of the 21 batches were kegged. I don't know if I will bottle any whole batches this year. Probably not. I will bottle a few from most batches, but I expect most of the batches will be mostly consumed out of a keg.

As always, if you want to keep up to date on SheppyBrew, you can follow this blog, or the SheppyBrew Facebook page, or my twitter feed, or simply keeping an eye on SheppyBrew.com. (remember, that it has its own rss feed that you can subscribe to).

Take care everyone.
