I'm brewing a pumpkin beer

I'm brewing a pumpkin ale this weekend.

Why?

Don't be stupid, you know why I'm brewing a pumpkin ale this weekend.

I'm brewing a pumpkin ale this weekend because of this chick --->

aka, The SheppyBrew Beer Model --->

aka, My wife. --->

This chick, aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model aka My wife really likes pumpkin spice beers.

Really. She really likes them.

Really.

I don't think she's actually ever met a pumpkin beer that she has not liked, and she has tried a lot of them.

When we go to GABF, her "game plan" is to drag me to as many breweries that are pouring pumpkin beers as she can. Luckily, no one just pours pumpkin beers at GABF, so usually there is also a beer that normal people (aka Me) like at all these booths.

So, this chick, aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model aka my wife wants me to brew a pumpkin ale.

So, I'm brewing a pumpkin ale this weekend. I'm brewing the same recipe that I brewed last year

This beer was a hit last year. Not only did this chick, aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model aka my wife  like it, but we shared it with several people who just raved about it.

I personally was pretty critical of the beer early on, but after about a month or so in the keg, I actually started to think it was pretty good too.

I visited my favorite local homebrew shop today and bought the beer ingredients, so I'm committed to making this beer this weekend.

I do actually have to buy canned pumpkin before actually brewing. As you probably know a pumpkin beer doesn't technically actually need pumpkin in it, but I would feel wrong calling something a pumpkin ale when it didn't have some form of real pumpkin somewhere in the ingredient list.

Plus, I do think the pumpkin contributes a bit to the mouth feel.

I can pick up the Libby's canned pumpkin at any grocery store, though, so that is not a big deal at all.

I'll let you know how brew day goes.

I'll probably even let you know how it tastes and how well it is received by pumpkin beer fans.

Stay tuned.

Do you brew pumpkin beers?

Is there something your wife makes you brew?
