Tri-tip photos

I've had a tri-tip in my freezer since sometime in mid-ish October.

Tri-tips were on sale I guess and I purchased two. One I grilled on October 13. The other I grilled this past Saturday.

I never posted about the first one. Now, lucky reader, I'm posting photos from this past cook.

I really enjoy grilling eating tri-tip, but they are expensive enough that I never buy them unless they are on sale.

Tri-tips are pretty simply to make, and my process is always pretty much the same. I apply a salt / pepper / garlic rub hours before I want to cook.

I generally prepare my grill around an hour and a half before dinner. I'll set up the grill for a reverse sear. Indirect for the first hour to hour and fifteen minutes and then direct for the last little bit.

With Thanksgiving coming up soon, I needed to get my 2025 X-Mas Ale on tap and carbonated, and so I had to concentrate on finishing up my Voodu Magic Tropical Stout.

It has been a wonderful stout for quite awhile, but I was very much ready to get something else in that spot.

I doubt Voodu Magic is a stout I'll make again. There are other stouts I like a lot more than this one.

I also took the opportunity to take a photo of Gnomeberry Hollow Cherry Porter for the SheppyBrew Website.

This is a wonderful beer! The cherry flavor is subtle enough that I'm not sure I'd pick out cherry for sure if I was not aware of it being there. And, that being the case, I probably won't brew this beer again. However, I might like to try just the base beer, so maybe a non-cherry version of this might be in my future.

The most recent version of 1519 Barker Exportbier is also still on tap, and probably the next beer I'll try to finish up. I would not be surprised if this doesn't make it past Thanksgiving weekend.

This is another great beer. Really nice.

The tri-tip turned out great. Next time I make one, (if I remember) I'll try to give myself a little more time and give myself more time to rest.

But, it was wonderful.
