I apologize.
As you may know, the Brewery likes to post quarterly updates on how much we have brewed. You can see all these updates (including the one you are reading right now) by following this link:http://blog.ericshepard.com/search/label/Brew%20Stats .
Melting Stream Spring Saison |
The SheppyBrew Brewery brewed 4 batches of beer in the 2nd quarter:
Boo Berry American Wheat |
Each batch was 5 gallons so I am at 45 gallons through the first half of the year. A little off the 100 gallons per year, but not much.
2 of the 4 batches were completely new recipes for SheppyBrew. Both of these were kits from my LHBS and the proceeds went to charity.
For the first time in a long long long time I brewed an extract beer (Red Eye Red Ale).
Bob Dog ESB |
I think I may end up dumping Red Eye Red Ale. It has an infection that caused a pretty significant flavor flaw. The "dry-hopped" coffee mask the flaw a bit, but this beer should be so much better.
At the moment, I don't need the keg, but when I do, I will most likely put most of this beer down the drain.
I'm not sure what exactly I did wrong. I probably wasn't being real careful as it was an extract batch and I was trying to get through it pretty quick.
I will have to brew it again to redeem myself. The second time will most likely be all-grain.
Red Eye Red Ale |
Q3 is underway. I have a couple of beers done and plan to brew another this weekend.
I don't really have much to say other than that.
As always, you can also always follow us on SheppyBrew's Instagram Feed; SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; and SheppyBrew's Website.
Hopefully I'll update you on Q3 at a more reasonable time.
Go Bears!
