2025 Q3 SheppyBrew Stats

Here it is September already. We're three quarters through the year! 2025 is flying by.

At the SheppyBrew Brewery, Q3 was another lighter than average brewing quarter, with only 4 batches of beer and 20 gallons of beer.

This means we've brewed 14 batches and 70 gallons so far in 2025, putting us on track to hit 92 gallons this year.

I don't expect I'll pick up my volume all that much in Q4, but I guess we'll have to see how it goes.

My Q3 batches were:

As I'm typing this, Cuttlefish is gone, and Voodu MagicJohnny McClure, and 1519 Barker are still "on tap".

Cuttlefish Czech Amber Lager

Cuttlefish Czech Amber Lager and Voodu Magic Tropical Stout are new recipes brewed as part of my BJCP Goal and the Roll-a-Style list. Johnny McClure Rainier Lager is also a new recipe, but was not a new style.

This puts me at 11 new recipes brewed in 2025. In 2024, I only brewed 7 new recipes all year. Since I'm concentrating on the BJCP Goal this year, I expect I'll brew a few more new recipes by the end of the year.

If I'm counting correctly, I've now brewed 87 of the 108 BJCP Styles. I certainly won't finish up the list by the end of the year.

I actually brewed 3 lagers (CuttlefishJohnny McClure, and 1519 Barker) this quarter, which is more than I had brewed in quarters 1 and 2. There are only a couple lagers left on my Roll-a-Style list, so I probably won't brew very many lagers in Q4.

All the beers this year so far have been all-grain brewed in the Anvil Foundry.

I still have not done a travel brew day yet this year. At this point I don't have any plans to visit either Doc or Du, but hopefully I'll get at least one brew day with my brewing buddies. Learn to Homebrew day is coming up soon.

I have to figure out what to do about my X-Mas Ale this year. I'd like to get a Roll-a-Style beer that will double as an X-Mas Ale, but I'm not sure what that would be. Perhaps a Wheatwine or a Barely Wine. I guess we'll see.
