July 2013 Blogging

For awhile I thought July had an excellent chance to set a new page-view record on this blog, but the traffic really slowed down in week 3 or so. The month ended up with the 5th most page-views all time. Not all that bad, but considering the strong start, July was a bit of a disappointment.

Here are the 10 most viewed pages of July:

#1 Female vs. Male Brain Oct 28, 2011 ... Like usual, #1 for the month, and ridiculously far ahead in the all-time list.

#2 Poll: which Belgium Strong Ale should I brew? Jul 15, 2013 ... Another poll designed to help me figure out what to brew. This got a lot more views than votes. Belgium Golden Strong won.

#3 2013 Q2 SheppyBrew Stats Jul 11, 2013 ... My usual quarterly report on what SheppyBrew has been brewing. I think this one did better than most (all) the posts in this general category.

#4 All-Grain Version of the White House Honey Ale Nov 12, 2012 ... Up to #8 all-time. All-grain recipe for the White House Honey Ale.

#5 Colorado 6 pack May 29, 2013 ... Continues to get good traffic. Has not broken into the all-time list, yet, but I think it is close.

#6 Another CYBI Arrogant Bastard Aug 18, 2012 ... It has been quite awhile since this post got any attention, but for some reason it did this month. Talking about the BN's CYBI close of Arrogant Bastard.

#7 Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale Jul 3, 2013 ... A beer review of Tank 7, which is a beer that appears on Zymurgy's Best Beers in America list.

#8 South Dakota Six Pack ... Kinda Sorta Not Really Jul 29, 2013 ... Sort of in the spirit of the Colorado 6 pack article, although you will see that I didn't find a whole lot of beers actually brewed in South Dakota.

#9 Don't read this pre- #GABF post Oct 11, 2012 ... Still #5 all-time. Not sure why people keep reading this. I told you not to.

#10 Hennepin Farmhouse Saison Jul 18, 2013 ... Another beer review for a beer that appears on Zymurgy's Best Beers in America list.

If I am counting right, that is 5 posts written in the month on the list. That is a lot.

August seems to be starting off pretty slow. Maybe this means things will pick up towards the end.

  2. Me too. I just won a 2nd Place in Best of Show for a county fair home-brew contest. Presumably the ribbon for that is in the mail right now. Of course I'll be posting a picture of that too.
