2024 #Strava #YearInSport

If you've been following along on this blog for awhile, you may remember that I have been sharing my Strava YearInSport stats over the past couple of years.

I pay more attention to my cycling goals and totals on Strava, but the YearInSport stats cover all activities.

Sort of interesting to me. Not sure if any blog readers care, but I'll share regardless. To be honest, this just helps me compare year-to-year how I do.

It is also interesting to see what Strava reports in it's YearInSport stats from year to year.

Anyway ...

I logged a total of 851 hours of activity in 2025, which is up from 796 in 2024
I covered 9,351 miles and 491,497. Both are up significantly from last year.
Strava declared that I was "active" 354 days. Again, up from 2024.

Of course, the bulk of these stats come from cycling:

This is actually the first year that I've logged significant running activities:

Of course, I've logged quite a few "sports" in Strava. Next year, I'm thinking running will probably eclipse my walking miles, but this year walking was number 2.

Just like last year, my top segment was "Quincy Cruise (Westbound)". I rode it 371 times this year vs only 211 last year.

My "top fan" this year was "Mary". She gave me over 413 kudos. That is a crazy number.

Strava didn't give me a longest streak of days active this year like it did last year. It did, however tell me I have a 268 weeks streak going. It has been since 11/2020 that I didn't log at least one Strava activity. Honestly, I cannot image that I'll ever go a whole week without logging at least one activity for quite a while.

And ... I was "active" 354 days. Last year I was active "only" 343 days. It looks like this year, I was active every single day in January, February, August, and September.

As I mentioned above, I was active 851 hours this year. Unsurprisingly, September was the month I logged the most hours.

Much like last year, my longest logged activity was the Triple Bypass Ride. I won't be riding the Triple in 2026, so it will be interesting to see what this is next year.

This year Strava gave me PR's for my runs. There is nothing to compare these to in previous years. I'm hoping I'll break all these in 2026.

And ... I was "Local Legend" 83 times this year. Last year I had "only" 63. Since I ride pretty much all the time, I tend to accumulate a bunch of these, especially in winter months when lots of cyclists stop riding.

And ... that is all the Strava #YearInSport gave me this year. Again, these are more interesting for me to track than they would be for anyone else. But, that is pretty much the case of everything I put on this blog.

I'm curious to see what stepping up running will do to this post next year. I guess we'll all have to wait and see.
