F is for Fiction Beer Company

It's been almost 2 months since I posted E is for Evergreen Brewery.

With covid restrictions loosening up, I really thought I'd make more progress on our A to Z Denver Breweries Project.

But, with other things going on, we just have not had a chance to visit new breweries.

This past Saturday, though, the SheppyBrew Beer Model wanted to go to our "F" brewery.

Obviously, she almost always gets what she wants, so that is what we did.

We got in the car, stopped by Qdoba to pick up some food, and then headed to ....

Fiction is located at 7101 East Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80220 in the same building as a bunch of apartments or condos or something.

Seems like a great location for the people living in this building. People visiting, though have to be careful to park in acceptable parking spots.

The taproom is a cool looking space, with a library / book theme. There is also a nice patio area, which is where we had our lunch.

I ordered a flight of all the beers they had on tap. 10 of them.

  • A Beer of Very Little Brain: Honey Wheat Common.
  • Rose of Castile Vienna Lager
  • It Rolls! Watermelon Kolsch
  • Talk-Song Barrel Aged Bad Ass Coffee IPA
  • Fan Fiction Short Shory: Double Dried Hop New England Style IPA
  • Phaged Brew: Mole Milk Stout
  • Littlun Tropical Stout
  • Juice Box Sour: Kettle Soured with Dragon Fruit, Pineapple, and Peach.
  • Carrot Cake: Berliner Weisse made with carrot juice.
  • Hush-Hush: Frozen Sour Blond Slushie blended with Strawberry and Papaya.

As you can tell from the list, they are not afraid of trying things out. There were a bunch of unique beer styles on the list.

When it came right down to it, I liked the Fan Fiction best and the Beer Model liked the Honey Wheat Common. Those are the ones we had pints of before leaving.

It was a great time with great beer. They had a food truck, so we apparently did not have to stop at Qdoba. I think I would have preferred the food from the truck, but that's ok.

If you find yourself in this area of Denver ... check them out.

HOURS
Monday - Wednesday: 2:00 - 8:00 pm
Thursday & Friday: 2:00 – 10:00 pm

Next up on the list ... "G". Looking through the Colorado Brewery List, we think we know what brewery we'd like to hit next. But you never know until we actually get there ...

Stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z and you can find out what we end up deciding on.
