June Update on 2025 Cycling Goals

I do quite a bit of cycling for a middle-aged couch potato.

With all the BBQ I make and eat, and all the beer I brew and drink, biking a ridiculous amount helps keep me somewhat in shape.

So ... I spend lots of time cycling around the foothills of Denver, which I always track on Strava.

Anyway ... as you may remember from 2025 Cycling Goals, I have 5 cycling goals this year:

#MetricCenturyEveryMonth / #8200MilesIn2025 / #16EverestsIn2025 / Triple Bypass Ride / #GCCUSA

 

Here is an update for these goals as of the end of June, 2025: 

1. #MetricCenturyEveryMonth
   I got 1 Metric Century done in June: To Cabin Creek. This is the 47th straight month that I've been able to finish at least one 100km ride. July of 2021 was the last month I did not finish a metric century.
   
   
2. #8200MilesIn2025
   As of the end of June, I have logged over 4,090 miles in 2025. This is the first month that I am "ahead" on plan for the year (just barely).
   
   
3. #16EverestsIn2025
   16 x 29,032 = 464,512 feet. At the end of June I have logged over 239,000 feet climbed. This puts me ahead of the goal by over 9,000 feet. 
   
   
4. Triple Bypass Ride
   Part of the reason I'm ahead on the #16EverestsIn2025 goal is because I've done a couple long-climb rides training for the Triple Bypass. 6th Lookout MTN Climb of 2025 and To Cabin Creek. Both included a fair distance up Juniper Pass, which is the first climb of the Triple Bypass.
   
   
5. #GCCUSA
   So far, I've raised $676 of my $2,500 goal. I have not really done any "Fund Raising" yet, so I would say I'm doing pretty well so far. For what it's worth, the GCC "officially" kicked off their year, so I suppose I'll start to get a little more active begging for money.
