It blows my mind that we've already passed the ides of March. The year seems to be flying by.
I know that I'm the only one who really cares, but I have not mentioned any 2025 cycling goals on this blog yet.
In the past few years, I've probably overshared how much cycling I do and how I'm tracking towards various mileage and elevation goals.
I have not done that at all so far this year.
I have these 2025 goals. I just have not taken the time to "share" them.
Again, no one really cares other than myself, but I do like to have these to go back and look at from time to time.
So now, here I am posting my 2025 Cycling Goals.
- #MetricCenturyEveryMonth
Of course, this has been an ongoing goal for quite awhile. As of this month, I've done at least one ride of 100km or longer every month since July of 2021. That is 44 straight months.
I actually almost broke this streak in January, only getting in my January Metric Century on the very last day of the month, but now that I've gotten past winter months, I am likely to be able to continue this going forward until at least next winter. - #8200MilesIn2025
I blew away my #7100MilesIn2024 goal, hitting 8,062 miles for the year. That's a lot. I decided to shoot for 8,200 miles this year. I know I can physically do it if I stay healthy and at least one of my bikes is in working condition. It is quite a time commitment, but so far I'm pretty well on track with over 1,500 miles tracked so far this year during snowy months. - #16EverestsIn2025
My original elevation goal for last year was #11EverestsIn2024 (29,032 x 11 = 319,352 feet), and mostly because all the climbing I did training for the Triple Bypass Ride that original goal was basically a joke by the end of the year.
This year, I decided to go with 16 x 29,032 = 464,512 feet. Honestly, at the beginning of the year, I thought this was pretty aggressive, but right now, I'm already ahead of pace, so I might blow past this goal too. - Triple Bypass Ride
Last year, was the first year that I did rode the Triple Bypass. As I mentioned in Sheppy's Blog: Triple Bypass Ride, I was very proud of my time.
Unofficially, I'm shooting to finish faster this year, but we'll see how that goes. I'm aggressively training for the ride already, which is the main reason I'm ahead of the #16EverestsIn2025 goal. But, lots of things can happen on a 118 mile ride climbing over 10,000 feet in one day.
NOTE ... if you'd like to ride the Triple Bypass, if you use this link to sign up, I'll get referral credit: https://runsignup.com/Race/Register?raceId=173621&raceRefCode=uK3qSCpn - #GCCUSA
Yes, for the 10th time I'm raising money and awareness to help fight Childhood Cancer again this year. My goal is to raise $2,500 and ride 1,200 miles in September for the challenge.
If you'd like to help out or just track how I'm doing you can do both on my GCC Rider Page: https://greatcyclechallenge.com/riders/EricShepard
