So ... I mentioned in #10Everestsin2021 that one of my goals for 2021 is to log 300,000 feet of climbing over the year.
That's basically climbing Mt. Everest 10 times over the year.
I was able to do a fair bit of winter riding in January. I reached just short of 400 miles, which isn't bad at all for this time of year.
My total elevation gain for the month was 25,127 feet.
In order to reach 300,000 feet, I need to climb 822 per day. In January, I averaged 810 feet per day. A little lower than goal, but considering I ride more in warmer months, I should catch up.
In order to reach 300,000 feet, I need to climb 25,000 feet per month. I'm slightly ahead on that metric. January is one of the longer months, but I expect to climb more in Summer months, so I consider myself ahead of goal.
So, there you go. I'm on track.
If you'd like to follow along and see how I'm doing throughout the year ... bookmark Sheppy's Blog: #10Everestsin2021I've signed up for the Great Cycle Challenge again this year. Just like last year, the event is going to be in September.
