It is difficult to believe we've already hit 25 breweries (26 after today's post) since finishing up A to Z Denver Breweries Round 4.
We started with A is for AC Golden Tank Room back in August of 2023, and we're already up to "Z".
As I mentioned in Y is for BerkeleY AlleY Beer Company, we had really one obvious choice on the Colorado Brewery Map & List.
It is actually one of the newer breweries in the area, having opened February of this year.
And ... as luck would have it ... this brewery is very close to our home in Littleton, Colorado.
Z is for Zymos Brewing
Since this brewery is so close, the Beer Model, aka Pedego Owner wanted to bike to the brewery. It is only a 5 mile ride on mostly bike paths and neighborhood roads. A nice easy ride to:
5180 S. Lowell Blvd. Littleton, CO 80123
We actually arrived a little before the posted opening time, but the brewery was open. It is a nice little taproom with a decent outside area.
They are currently well-decorated for Halloween.
From their website:
"Welcome to Zymos Brewing, a community focused microbrewery in Littleton, CO!We believe beer brings people together. With an inviting taproom and a wide variety of brews, we hope to foster a third place: a haven for gathering with family and friends, engaging with neighbors, and building a strong sense of community. Come join us for a pint!"
We, of course opened with an a la carte "flight" of sample glasses.
They seem to be one of those breweries who does a good job of keeping their online Tap List up-to-date, so if you're interested in seeing what they have, check that out.
Our "flight" included:
- The Brewer Drives A Hearse IPA - Black
- Cup & Saucer Blonde
- Educated Rodents Kölsch
- Hop Ritual #4 IPA - American
- Lightning In A Bottle - Spicy Pickle Cream Ale
- Polka Will Never Die Märzen
- Wishing Well Pale Ale - American
When we got pints, I also had the bar tender get me a sample of
- Lightning In A Bottle - OG Green Chili Cream Ale
All the beers were good. I told the Beer Model that I had a three way tie for my favorite: The Brewer Drives A Hearse IPA, Hop Ritual #4 IPA, and Polka Will Never Die.
She really seemed to enjoy the Polka Will Never Die Märzen, and got a pint of that. The glass it came in was uniquely cool.
I went with the Black IPA for my pint.
They don't serve food, so we packed a lunch to consume with our beers.
It was fun. I expect we'll stop by this place quite a bit. I'm happy to have another local brewery.
And ... so ... that concludes Round 5 of our A to Z Breweries. Honestly, when I started this way back in 2015, I had no idea I would still be doing this almost 10 years later.
I'm not sure I'd be able to figure this out without the Colorado Brewery Map & List, so I am glad I have that list as a reference.
There are still way more than 26 breweries left in the Denver area to visit, so I expect we'll continue the concept, but we might change how we do it. Stay tuned at Sheppy's Blog: A to Z and you find out what we end up doing.
Feel free to leave a comment if there are breweries you think we should visit.
As always, stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; SheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.
Go Bears!
