You also know we were not sure how to progress with this series of posts. Or ... should we even continue on at all.
The Colorado Brewery Map & List still has quite a few breweries left for us to visit, but there are enough challenging letters that we probably won't be able to fill them all in.
As it turns out, the first few letters fall in place pretty well, so we decided to go ahead and proceed with the beginning of the alphabet.
We don't know how to handle letters we cannot find a brewery for, but that is a problem to address another day.
In the meantime ...
A is for Alley Brews Brewery & Coffee Shop
Looking at these photos, you may recognize this location from such classic posts as D is for De Steeg Brewing, and Y is for BerkeleY AlleY Beer Company.
4342 Tennyson St, Denver, CO
It is a fantastic location for a brewery, which is probably part of the reason people keep trying to resurrect a brewery here, but it is pretty small, so it is also a little tough to make it work here.
It is also a little difficult to find unless you know where to look ... you have to enter through the alley between 43rd and 44th, between Tennyson Street and Stuart St.
Perhaps this owner group has the secret in adding coffee to their menu.
I hope they are able to keep this going.
"Your all-day hangout on Tennyson Street in the Berkeley neighborhood Denver. Craft brewery, coffee, food, and cocktails near me — find us in the alley. We’re a women‑owned brewery and café serving craft beer and coffee in the alley — a coworking coffee bar and Denver neighborhood hangout with food, cocktails, wine and non‑alcoholic craft drinks.Whether you stop by for a solo work session or bring the whole crew, you’ll always find a warm welcome and plenty of options here."
Their Beer Menu seems pretty up-to-date, which is always nice.
They also have a somewhat limited but good food menu.
And, of course if you are not in the mood for beer, they have coffee.
We started out with a couple of flights of beers.
All the beers were solid. Nothing real spectacular, but delicious.
The food was also very good.
My favorite beer was their "Contingent B" American IPA. Nice and hoppy without being overly bitter.
The wife's (aka the SheppyBrew Beer Model) enjoyed the Go Go Coyote Kolsch the best.
If you find yourself in this area, I suggest dropping in for food, beer, or coffee. Whatever you're in the mood for.
Next up ... "B". I believe the Beer Model has a brewery picked out for the letter "B". Stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z and you'll see what we end up visiting next.
As always keep watching the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with my BBQ, Beer, Biking: SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; SheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.Of course, don't forget to visit this blog often as well!
