After our Paint Mines visit, but before check-in time for our hotel room, we had a few of hours to kill.
First off, we had to find lunch, and as luck would have it, there was a nice little brewery with a food truck between the Paint Mines and Colorado Springs, where we were staying.
We stopped at one of Black Forest Brewing Company and had a couple flights along with some Mexican food from a food truck.
Both the food and the beer was really good. If you find yourself in the Colorado Springs area, this is a good place to visit.
After lunch, we still had a couple of hours.
I thought it would be cool to mark off the next letter in our A to Z Brewery Series of blog posts...
C is for Cerberus Brewing Company
"At Cerberus Brewing Company, you’ll find a cool pub atmosphere, friendly staff and a laid-back vibe. You’ll also discover some of the most dynamic pub cuisine in Colorado Springs, award-winning beer brewed in house and a dining experience that ranges from casual beer garden hangouts to upscale date night dinners. We’ve found our groove as a dog-friendly local brewery, with food that is anything but average and beer that is extraordinary. We’re proud to be the restaurant of choice for discerning beer drinkers and foodies throughout the Pikes Peak region."
Since we'd already had lunch, I feel like we sort of wasted our trip here. Their food menu looks very good.
And ... we really didn't sample the beers like we would had it been our first brewery of the day, but the beers we had were very good.
The Beer Model also had a fruity "Mocktail" that she really liked. Someday, I hope we'll get a chance to visit this place again and really take it in.
By the time we finished our beers here we were able to head over to our hotel, and rest some before dinner.
The next day, we took advantage of the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail / Bike Path.
We spent a couple hours riding along this path until around lunch time, and then we stopped by another brewery ... "Goat Patch Brewing Company".
The entire ride was around 25 miles. We went at a pretty leisurely speed.
Lots of beautiful views of Pikes Peak and other foothills / mountains to the west.
Goat Patch doesn't serve food, but there was a cool little "Nacho Matrix" place next door.
The food and beer was great and the bike ride was fun.
