Now that April is complete, I thought I'd give another quick update.
There was a fair amount of snowy days in April, but for the most part, the weather was a non-factor.
Of course, my gym is still closed, so indoor riding is not an option, and all my riding is done outside.
I was able to log 606 miles in April (actually I'm writing this before the end of the month ... so by the time this posts, I might have gotten more miles).
This brings me to a 2020 YTD total of 1787 miles.
My initial goal was to reach 400 miles in April and to be at a total YTD of 1400 miles going into May.
I'm ahead of schedule.
Because the Great Cycle Challenge has been postponed from June to September, I reduced my planned June miles, and increased my July, August, and September miles.
If I hold to the new plan, I should be done with my 5000 mile goal by the end of October.
I've also decided that I'm not going to do as much fundraising for the Great Cycle Challenge as I've done in previous years. I just can't bring myself to ask for money when the economy is reeling from the COVID pandemic.
I suppose if things look better towards the end of the year, I'll reconsider the fund raising.
In May, my goal is to log 600 miles, although I have a higher secret goal that has to do with a Strava Challenge.
