2015 Year-End SheppyBrew Stats

2015 has ended. Happy Brew Year!

SheppyBrew Brewery was busy last year. Since the Brewery likes to post quarterly updates on how much we have brewed, it is time for another Brew Stats post.

If you are interested, can see all these past updates (including the one you are reading right now ... and if any I do in the future) by following this link:  http://blog.ericshepard.com/search/label/Brew%20Stats .

I broke the 100 gallon mark for beer brewed in 2015. You may recall that last year, I only got to 90 gallons.

Falling Leaves Autumn Saison

I brewed 5 batches of beer in the 4th quarter:
The 5 batches brought my 2015 total to 22. Last year, I only brewed 18

Those 5 batches were a nice even 25 gallons, bringing my 2015 total to 102. As I've already mentioned, last year was only 90 gallons.

Muggled Pale Ale
Of the 22 batches, 11 were brand new beers. Last year 10 out of 18 were new. I think that 50% new to established recipes is a good percentage.

T.RA.SH. Mexican Lager brought my lager total up to 3 for the year. I brewed 2 lagers last year, and three the year before. I think 2 or 3 lagers is a fine number for my little brewery.

X-Mas Ale 2015

Once again, all 22 batches were all-grain. I keep telling myself I should do an extract recipe "for old-times sake", but I just never bring myself to actually doing it.

I kegged all but 4 batches of beer this year. One unusual thing about that is that my X-Mas Ale was actually kegged this year unlike previous years. It was a very popular beer, and I liked having it in the keg, so I think I'll keg the X-Mas Ales going into the future.

T.Ra.Sh. Mexican Lager
Like last year, I didn't enter any competitions. I think I might be retired from competition brewing.

I don't really have much in particular planned for 2015. I do, of course, have to brew my Arctic Vortex Winter Saison soon (today or tomorrow).

I would also like to explore the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines some more this year. Perhaps I'll brew some of the new styles. Keep an eye on Sheppy's Blog: BJCP Goal. for more on that.

Laser Salt Sandy Blonde Ale
Anyway ... that is all I have to say at the moment.

I hope you all have a wonderfully happy 2016!

Go Blackhawks!
