Blog Stats

Today, I noticed a new tab in the BlogSpot Dashboard.  Well, to be honest, I don't know how new it is.  I've never noticed it before, but it certainly may have been there for quite awhile without me noticing it.  The "new" tab is called Stats and lists different statistics on people accessing my blog.

There are some interesting (and in some cases surprising) facts that the stats show me.

For example, in the past month (Nov 7 - Dec 6), my top 10 viewed blog entries (listed most hits to least) are:

• Poison Rationality (Oct 9, 2008)
• Beer Bloggers (Nov 19, 2010)
• Tweedle Beetles (Mar 2, 2006)
• GABF Final Session and Random Thoughts (Sep 20, 2010)
• Fizzy Yellow Beer (Nov 12, 2010)
• Happy Reformation (Oct 29, 2008)
• An Idle Thought (Nov 24, 2010)
• Roctoberfest Lager (Aug 21, 2010)
• Zoo Zoo Zoo (Nov 6, 2010)
• QLC All Grain Brew (Oct 11, 2010)

Some of these are recent posts, so they make perfect sense.  But some of these completely surprise me ( Poison Rationality being #1; Tweedle Beetles being #3; Happy Reformation being #6).  I am not sure who is out there reading these.  No one is (or very few people are) leaving comments.

The other interesting thing I found is the countries that are accessing the blog over the past month. Top 10 in order of most to least:

• United States (this one makes sense)
• Netherlands
• Russia
• Germany
• Ukraine
• Latvia
• Portugal
• Slovenia
• France
• Brazil

I had no idea, my blog had such an international audience.  I wish more would leave comments.

Anyway, there is other interesting stuff in there.  I'm sure no one really cares except me, but I thought I'd share this anyway.

Oh ... and by the way ... I just added "Ad Sense" to my blog.  The fact that so many people are actually hitting my blog makes me think I might as well see what will happen.   The ad is now between "previous posts" and "blogs I read" on the right hand side of the blog.  Go ahead and click on one or two if you don't mind.  Thanks.  (those who read this as a facebook note will not have any idea what that means.  Go to http://blog.ericshepard.com and you will.
