2023 Q1 SheppyBrew Stats

Here it is ... already April, which means that the first quarter of 2023 is done. It's time to report on the  SheppyBrew Brewing Stats for the quarter.

I keep claiming that I will brew less beer in 2023 than I did last year, but so far I have not slowed down. At all.

Last year, in Q1, I had brewed 5 batches, 30 gallons.

This year so far I've brewed 6 batches for 31 gallons.

Grumkins and Snarks Oatmeal Stout

These were all beers I brewed to increase the number of BJCP Styles that I've brewed.

Arctic Vortex Winter Saison

I've brewed two lagers (Mardi Bock and No Drums Jack Black Lager) so far this year. Both were Pressure Fermented, which is something I've started playing around with. I expect I'll brew quite a few lagers this year.

Doodle Bop Belgium Single

All my beers so far this year have been "all grain". I had an issue with my Foundry that I had to fix, and I had a Travel Brew Day (Dubbel Minor), so only 3 of the 6 batches were on my Anvil Foundry so far. Big Brew Day is coming up, which means I probably will use old-school mash tun / propane burner, but other than that, I expect I'll start using the Foundry for the rest of my brews this year.

Mardi Bock

The SheppyBrew Beer Model helped me brew Dubbel Minor, so I don't have to worry about being illegal when I pass the 100 Gallon mark this year.

In the 2nd Quarter, I expect I'll brew more Pressure Fermented lagers. I also want to mark some more styles off my 2021 BCJP Styles to Brew. As I mentioned, Big Brew Day is coming up, so I'll be traveling to Doc's Brewery to brew something.

Dubbel Minor

I have not brewed my Spring Seasonal Saison yet, so I'll have to do that soon.

I honestly think I'll brew less this year than last, which means I'll have to slow down eventually, but I guess we'll see if that actually happens.

No Drums Jack Black Lager

Other than that, you'll just have to stay tuned to see what happens.

As always, stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook PageSheppy's Twitter FeedSheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.
