I is for Sanitas Brewing II

Yes, we're continuing along with Round 5 of  the A to Z Breweries Series of Posts.

If you read H is for Left Hand RiNo Drinks & Eats, you know that "I" is up next.

You also know that according to the Colorado Brewery Map & List, we'll have to be pretty creative to find a Denver-area brewery that starts with the letter "I".

Honestly, the letter "I" has been challeging for us from the beginning of this whole thing.

We've used I is for IronWorks Brewery and Pub (closed), I is for [The] Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project (closed), I is for Iron Mule Brewery (not really what I consider the Denver area), and I is for {"..."} (a collection of breweries I visited during GABF).

The wife (aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model) came up with the idea to visit a new local brewery ...

I is for Sanitas Brewing II

Sanitas Brewing has been a brewery in Boulder for several years. I've actually mentioned them on this blog back in June of 2015 in my post 6 Pack for American Craft Beer Week 2015.

Recently (spring or summer of last year) they opened a second (II) location in Englewood, Colorado, which is really close to where we live.

Last weekend, we decided to stop by for dinner on our way to a University of Denver  Hockey Game.

I'm so glad the Beer Model came up with this idea, because I really like this place, and I'm not sure when we'd ever have stopped by otherwise.

They are located at 200 W Belleview Ave Englewood, CO 80110, which is a convenient spot for us on our way to the University of Denver.

Also convenient for us is that they have a little burger kitchen in the same building.

I actually started with a pint of their Black IPA. Black IPA has sort of fallen out of favor in the craft beer world, but I still like them (at least when they are made well).

I thought this one was absolutely fantastic.

The Beer Model ordered a flight of mostly light-colored lagers (and Kölsch). All of these were also fantastic.

The burgers were pretty good also. I'm pretty sure we'll return for dinners in the future.

We got in and out fairly quickly and were able to get to the hockey game with plenty of time to watch the warmups.

Honestly, this is a great place to hang out to eat and drink.

The hockey game was a good one. It went to overtime and a shootout. Unfortunately the home team lost in the shoot out but at least it was an exciting game.

Again, I'm glad we picked Sanitas Brewing II as our "I" brewery.

And now ... we need a "J" brewery.

"J" is going to be another challenge, but I have an idea. Stay tuned on Sheppy's Blog: A to Z to see what we pick.

As always, stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with beer and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook PageSheppy's Twitter FeedSheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.
