But, with the whole COVID pandemic a reality ... the Great Cycle Challenge has been postponed until September.
I would have had a goal of 1000 miles.
I still cycled quite a bit in June, as I still am trying to log #5000MilesIn2020, but not as much as I would have.
As you may remember from May Progress on #5000MilesIn2020, my June goal was to ride 800 miles.
For most of the month, I thought I wouldn't quite get there, but on June 30, I reached 809 miles.
That puts me at 3415 miles for the year. Feel free to disagree, but that is a lot of miles to bike in 6 months.
Not only did I ride more than 800 miles in June, but I also climbed over 41,000 feet in elevation gain in the month.
So, my #5000MilesIn2020 goal is on track. Actually, I'm well ahead.
My July goal is only 700 miles. Seems easy considering the amount of riding I've been doing the past couple of months.
You may remember from last month, that we bought my wife (aka The SheppyBrew Beer Model) an e-Bike. She's been continuing to join me on rides.
With her on an e-Bike and me doing ridiculous miles on my regular bike, we're actually pretty close on our abilities.
One other note on the Great Cycle Challenge ...
I had several generous donors help me out ... and I surpassed my fund raising goal. I earned the 2020 GCC jersey.
Thank you everyone who donated!
Anyway, if I stay healthy and my bike doesn't develop any major mechanical issues, I am well ahead of the pace I need to hit that #5000MilesIn2020 ...
