If you know me or even just follow this blog, I suppose it wouldn't surprise you to know that I really like Jalapeño Poppers.
Strangely, though, I had never made my own.
So ... I decided to rectify that situation.
I had to head over to the grocery store because I didn't have most of the ingredients.
I had to buy cream cheese, bacon, and especially jalapeños.
My wife (aka the SheppyBrew Beer Model) suggested that I should get a couple of other things while I was there, but when I was actually there ... I forgot those extra things.
Oh Well.
The recipe for jalapeño poppers is fairly simple.
- Jalapeño Peppers ... cut in half
- Cream cheese ... mixed together with spices and other "stuff".
- Bacon ... to wrap around the poppers.
Clean out the halved peppers and stuff them with the cream cheese mixture. Wrap bacon around each cream cheese stuffed pepper half.
Get the Weber Kettle fairly hot ... around 400 degrees give or take. Cook for half an hour. Decide how much longer they need to cook based on how crispy you want the bacon.
The SheppyBrew Beer Model and I ate them while watching the Bengals beat the Bills. I probably ate too many, but I regret nothing.
Yummy yummy yummy.
Now I've made Jalapeño Poppers. I'm willing to bet this isn't the last time. Maybe next time you will see it on Sheppy's Blog: Jalapeno Poppers.
As always stay tuned on the regular SheppyBrew Channels to see what is happening with biking, brewing, barbequing, and other things: SheppyBrew's Facebook Page; Sheppy's Twitter Feed; SheppyBrew's Instagram Page; and SheppyBrew's Website.Of course, don't forget to visit this blog often as well!
Go Blackhawks!
