Today is the 22nd of May.
If you've been following my updates on my #5000MilesIn2022 goal, you know that my Strava mileage goal is 5,000 miles.
You also know that so far this year, I've been behind plan. As of the beginning of this month I was 30 miles behind plan.
To reach 5,000 miles, I need to average 12.7 miles per day. If I'm counting right, today is the 142nd day of the year.
To be "on plan" for my goal, I should be at 1945 miles today.
On May 11th, I was ahead for the first time this year. Then, I didn't bike for a few days and fell behind again.
I caught up again this past Thursday, but had to do the Incline Friday, and with all the snow (not to mention leg soreness) I didn't ride very much on Saturday.
Today, I got up still sore from the Incline, expecting to do 30 or 40 easy mile on the bike. I ended up doing my May Metric Century Ride, to stay on track for #MetricCenturyEveryMonth.
And ... of course that got me ahead on the #5000MilesIn2022 goal. I expect I'll be ahead of plan from this day forward.
I'm still behind on my #10Everestsin2022 goal, but only by 3035 feet. I'm in "striking distance". So, I expect I'll catch up easily this week.
And ... I'm telling you this all so as an excuse to mention again that I'm riding 1000 miles in September to help raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer Research.
